Hearing one of the most touching stories ever during Second Serve.
James Forsythe
What an amazing day!!! I had such a wonderful time passing out the gift bags to people in need at Henry Medical Center. I went during the second service and we heard some very touching stories. One guy shared his miracle with us. He met a complete stranger who donated her kidney to him! The story is more in depth, but the amazing thing was how touched this man was and he knew that this miracle was something God did for him.
Serving others and serving God, that's what it's all about!
Allison RentzThis was my first experience going out into the community with Second Serve (during the 11:30 service) and I loved it!
Four days ago a friend of mine had a baby and the little girl has been in the NICU since then. I really wanted to go and visit, and have prayer with the parents. On the way into the hospital Melissa, Paul, James, Allison and I actually ran into them waiting for the elevator as they were on the way back to the NICU. Turns out the group who went during the 10:15 service had already met and ministered to them. They even still had their bag of snacks in-hand! We then had a time of prayer with them before going to the ER.
Prior to the experience I think I was a bit nervous about how offering to pray with a complete stranger would be received. But now I know that God had my friends waiting at that elevator not only so that we could minister to them, but to also help ease me into the experience and become more comfortable with meeting and praying with the others I did not know.

We had a wonderful time today going to Henry Co. Hospital waiting rooms - Critical Care, Labor and Delivery/NICU, and the Emergency Room. People were so receptive to the gift bags and we prayed for several people. It was awesome! Make sure and check out the pictures.
Next time will be Second Sunday in February, so stay tuned for updates!
*Anyone who went today, please post something here that touched your heart so all can hear

I am as well always amazed at how receptive people are. It reminds me how much a hurting world needs the Lord. What a priviledge it is to be able to go out and serve in this way! Each time I am so touched and blessed. I am like you Melissa, I want everyone to get in on the blessings and not to miss the fun. We will also pray for the mother in law. LOL (and the not so receptive one)
Cathy RentzIt really was a great time. The next outreach will be on February 8 during both the 10:15am and 11:30am services. We will be going to the nursing home and passing out valentines made by our kids in Kidstown plus giving something special to those that work in the home. It will be an opportunity to bless and pray for a often neglected part of our society, so come on out!
